Timber
EXACTLY ENOUGH, THEN BUILD - *gather the exact parts a recipe needs - no more, no fewer - and only when it's complete can you build.*
Timber Builds a Birdhouse
Timber is a little beaver in a cozy apron, and Timber LOVES to build. Birdhouses, boats, bridges - Timber can build them all! But first, Timber has to gather the parts. And here is Timber’s careful rule: gather EXACTLY what the recipe needs.
Today Timber wants to build a birdhouse. Timber looks at the recipe card. “A birdhouse needs… TWO logs and ONE leaf. Two logs, one leaf. That’s the recipe!”
So Timber gathers. One log - plip! Two logs - plip! “Two logs, got them!” Then one leaf - plip! “One leaf, got it!”
Timber checks the recipe. Two logs? Yes! One leaf? Yes! “Exactly right! Not too many, not too few - EXACTLY what the recipe needs!”
And NOW - only now - can Timber build. Not before! If Timber only had one log, the birdhouse wouldn’t be ready. Timber would have to wait and gather the other one first. But with exactly two logs and one leaf… “Ready! BUILD!”
Tap, tap, tap - and up pops a lovely little birdhouse! Timber beams. “I gathered exactly what the recipe needed, and THEN I built it. That’s how you make a good, strong birdhouse!”
Timber never grabs too many parts, and never builds too early. Just exactly enough - then build.
A grown-up can play too! Pick a “recipe” - like “two blocks and one cup.” Gather them one at a time: “one block, two blocks, one cup!” Check: is that exactly the recipe? Yes! NOW build it together. Feel how good it is to gather just enough, then make something.
Gather exactly what the recipe needs - not too many! - and only then can we build it! That’s Timber.
