Sox the Puppy Tops It Off

Sox is a bouncy little puppy with floppy ears and four soft paws, and Sox has a favourite part of getting dressed: the very END, when you top it all off.

Because there are TWO special little extras that finish any dress-up. A HAT for the very top of your head. And SHOES for your feet, way down at the bottom.

One morning a young rabbit is almost ready. She has picked her colour - a lovely soft green - and she has her pattern too. But she stands there, not quite finished, feeling like something is missing.

Sox bounds over, tail wagging. “You look wonderful!” Sox says. “But shall we TOP IT OFF? A hat on top, and shoes for your feet - then you’re ALL dressed!”

The rabbit’s ears perk up. “A hat? And shoes?”

“A hat AND shoes!” says Sox. “Up high, and down low. Watch.” Sox pops a little party hat right on the top of the rabbit’s head - “hat, on TOP!” - and slips two tiny soft shoes onto her feet - “shoes, on your FEET!”

The rabbit looks down at her shoes, and reaches up to feel her hat, and she beams the biggest beam. “Now I’m all dressed!” she cheers. “Top to bottom!”

“Top to bottom!” Sox agrees, doing a happy spin.

That is Sox’s tail-wagging idea.

Top it off - a hat on your head, and shoes on your feet - and now you’re all dressed.

A grown-up can play too! Get ready together and say it out loud. Point to the top of your head: “HAT!” Point to your feet: “SHOES!” Pop on a hat, slip on some shoes, top to bottom. Now you’re both all dressed and ready to go!

The rabbit hops off, hat bobbing and shoes pattering, feeling finished and happy and ready for the day. And Sox flops down with a contented sigh, warm all over, glad he helped a friend feel all-dressed and ready - from the hat on top to the shoes on her feet.

“Top it off,” Sox yawns happily. “Hat up high, shoes down low. All dressed!”
