Pico
the high end of the scale
Pico Sparkles at the Top
Pico was a tiny, glittering fish who lived at the top of the scale — up near the sunlit surface, where the notes are bright and light and quick. When a song reached for its highest step, Pico was already there, sparkling.
If Bluma is the deep bottom of the scale, Pico is the shimmering top. When you sang up high — light and easy, letting the note float rather than pushing it — Pico darted up beside it, catching the sunlight. High notes feel like giggles and sparkles and little bubbles rising.
But Pico knew the golden rule of high notes: they should always feel comfy. If a note ever feels pinchy or squeezy, that only means it flew a touch too high for today — so Pico would swim back down a bit, find the bright-and-easy spot, and sparkle there instead. High singing is light, never strained.
The little singer floated a note way up to Pico — bright, twinkly, comfy — and Pico spun a happy loop in the sun. Then down to Bluma, then up to Pico again, a whole scale from deep to bright. Your voice can sparkle at the top and rest at the bottom. What a lot of sea lives inside a song.
Reading together with a grown-up? A card for the grown-up
For the grown-up: ask one question, then wait. When they answer, add one word to what they said. Tap the button when they have said something — that is one turn each, a circle. Nothing is recorded or kept.
Let them finish it
Say “Pico sings HIGH — up at the top of the …” and stop. Let them finish it.
Now wait. Count slowly to five in your head. Their answer is worth the quiet.
