RelicForge

Be the archaeologist (ages 9–14): a real 1,800-year-old Roman game stone survived, but nobody wrote its rules down. Build a rule set from bricks, run the wear simulation, and see how plausibly your reconstruction fits the real worn lines — a hypothesis-under-uncertainty lesson. On-device — no account, no AI, no data leaves your device.

Distributed-narrative cast

Meet the cast

RelicForge's dig crew (ages 9–14): 5 guides, each EMBODYING one step of how archaeologists reason about the past — read the wear, build a rule set, simulate it, score the fit, stay honest (R-DN-PARITY — the character IS the idea). Mentor = Vallis, the museum archaeologist who reads the stone with you. Illustrated portraits + DN-S chapters are on the way (STORY-PEND).

C

Coria the Reader

reads the worn lines — a stone rubs smooth where the pieces travelled, so wear IS the evidence

B

Brickwright

builds a game from swappable rule-bricks — change one brick, change the game to test

P

Playra

plays the rules hundreds of times so the board slowly wears, just like the real one did

P

Plausa

weighs how well the simulated wear matches the real stone — a plausibility score

C

Cavea

keeps everyone honest: a plausible rule set is never a PROVEN one (the search always finds SOME rules)
