Elle

HOME KEY (L)

Elle on the L Key

Next along the right hand is Elle, a gentle key-friend on the L key. Elle is home for your right ring finger — the finger next to your smallest.

Like all her friends, Elle keeps a home: your right ring finger rests on L, and always comes back home to L.

Can you find Elle? Put your right ring finger on the L key, beside Kit on K. Almost every finger is home now!

Say it with Elle: “Right ring finger, calm and well — L is home for gentle Elle.”

Jay, Kit, and Elle on the right; Ash, Sem, Dee, Fen on the left. Your fingers are nearly all resting at home. One more friend to go!

Reading together with a grown-up? A card for the grown-up

For the grown-up: ask one question, then wait. When they answer, add one word to what they said. Tap the button when they have said something — that is one turn each, a circle. Nothing is recorded or kept.

Let them finish it

Say “Right ring finger, calm and well — L …” and stop. Let them finish it.

Then say the whole line together: “Right ring finger, calm and well — L is home for gentle Elle.”.

Now wait. Count slowly to five in your head. Their answer is worth the quiet.

Circles together: 0

The QwertyPals ensemble
