Fen
HOME KEY (F, the bump)
Fen on the F Key
Now meet Fen, a clever key-friend on the F key. Fen is home for your left pointer finger — and Fen has a special secret.
Feel the F key with your fingertip. Do you feel a tiny raised bump? That bump is Fen’s secret! It’s there so you can always find home without looking down. Your pointer just feels for the bump and knows: this is home.
Can you find Fen? Put your left pointer on F and feel the little bump. Now all four left fingers are home: A, S, D, F!
Say it with Fen: “Left pointer finds the little bump — Fen on F, no need to jump.”
The bump is a gift for your finger. Feel for Fen’s bump, and your whole left hand knows exactly where home is — even with your eyes shut!
Reading together with a grown-up? A card for the grown-up
For the grown-up: ask one question, then wait. When they answer, add one word to what they said. Tap the button when they have said something — that is one turn each, a circle. Nothing is recorded or kept.
Let them finish it
Say “Left pointer finds the little bump — Fen on …” and stop. Let them finish it.
Now wait. Count slowly to five in your head. Their answer is worth the quiet.
Circles together: 0
