Advanced Synthesis
📋 What it is
The capstone: plan a project that deliberately bridges three or more subjects.
🗣️ Coach says
Everything comes together: design a real project and name exactly how each subject contributes. A "class podcast" uses ELA (script), maths (audio timing), CS (editing) and art (cover). Synthesis is orchestrating many subjects toward one goal.
🧠 Memory hook
Pick a real project → name each subject's job → combine them. Synthesis is teamwork of subjects.
😂 Giggle
Why did the cross-curricular problem win an award?
It was outstanding in multiple fields!
😲 Whoa!
A moon landing needed maths, physics, engineering, computing AND writing — the ultimate cross-subject synthesis.
✅ Quick check: Plan a "class museum exhibit". Name two subjects and each one's job.
Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.
E.g. history (the content/facts) + art (the display design) — any real pairing with distinct jobs.
Synthesis assigns each subject a clear role in one combined project.
🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)
Design a mini-project (a poster, a podcast) and write which subject does what.
