The periodic table organises elements so ones with similar behaviour line up in columns (groups).

The periodic table isn’t a random grid — it’s sorted so patterns appear. Elements in the same column (group) behave alike: the far-right column are unreactive gases, the far-left are super-reactive metals. Read the table and you can PREDICT how an element acts.
