Molecular Structure & Bonding

Atoms bond into molecules by sharing or transferring electrons; the recipe decides the substance.

Atoms rarely go solo — they bond into molecules to become stable. They either share electrons (covalent) or hand them over (ionic). The exact recipe matters: H₂O is water, but H₂O₂ (one extra oxygen) is hydrogen peroxide, a totally different substance.
