A fallacy is a flaw in reasoning that makes an argument sound convincing but not actually valid.

Fallacies are hidden cracks in an argument. “You’re wrong because you’re young” (attacks the person), “everyone believes it, so it’s true” (bandwagon). They FEEL persuasive — which is exactly why naming them protects you.
