Planets orbit other stars too (exoplanets); some sit in a "just-right" zone that could allow liquid water.

Our Sun isn’t special in having planets — thousands of exoplanets orbit other stars. Astronomers hunt for ones in the "habitable zone", the not-too-hot, not-too-cold band where liquid water could exist, because water is the key ingredient for life as we know it.
