Squeezes & End Plays
📋 What it is
A squeeze forces an opponent to discard a winner; an endplay forces them to lead into your strength.
🗣️ Coach says
The elegant endgame weapons. A SQUEEZE runs your winners until an opponent must throw away a guard they needed. An ENDPLAY throws them in and forces them to lead a suit that gives you the last tricks. Both make the enemy defeat themselves — the height of card play.
🧠 Memory hook
Squeeze = force a bad discard. Endplay = force a losing lead. Let them beat themselves.
😂 Giggle
Why did the trick have four cards?
Because each of the four players plays exactly one card to a trick!
😲 Whoa!
A well-executed squeeze can look like magic — the opponent has no bad move to blame, yet loses a trick they seemed to have safe. Experts call these "automatic" once you see them.
✅ Quick check: What does a squeeze force an opponent to do?
Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.
Discard a card they needed — run your winners and they must throw away a guard, handing you an extra trick.
A squeeze exhausts safe discards until the defender must abandon a winner.
