The ocean has layers by depth — sunlit at top, twilight below, then cold dark depths.

The ocean isn’t one uniform place — it’s layered by depth. The top SUNLIT zone has light and most life; below is the dim TWILIGHT zone; deeper still it’s pitch-black, freezing and crushingly high-pressure. Sunlight, temperature and pressure all change dramatically as you go down.
