Mission 12 of 16

Deep Sea Exploration

📋 What it is

The deep sea is dark, cold and crushing — explored with special subs and robots built to survive it.

🗣️ Coach says

Exploring the deep is like visiting another planet. It’s pitch-dark, near-freezing, and the pressure could crush a person instantly. So we send tough SUBMERSIBLES and robot vehicles built to withstand it, carrying lights and cameras. Every dive discovers new creatures — the deep sea is Earth’s last great frontier.

🧠 Memory hook

Deep sea = dark + cold + crushing pressure → explored by tough subs/robots. Every dive finds new life.

😂 Giggle

I'd tell you a joke about the Mariana Trench, but it's really under a lot of pressure.

😲 Whoa!

More people have travelled to the Moon than to the deepest point of the ocean — the crushing pressure makes the deep sea harder to reach than space.

✅ Quick check: Why do we explore the deep sea with robots and special submersibles?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Squeeze a sealed empty bottle hard — imagine ocean pressure thousands of times stronger, crushing metal.

🤸 Brain break: Dive-deep: mime lowering a sub, switching on its lights in the dark.
