Escape rooms hide answers behind logic grids. You almost never find the answer directly — you cross out what CAN’T be. “The key isn’t red or blue” removes two. Keep eliminating and the survivor must be the answer.

This is exactly how Sherlock Holmes reasons: “when you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.”
✅ Quick check: A safe code digit isn’t 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9. What is it?
Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.
4 — every other digit is eliminated, so the only survivor (4) must be the answer.
Elimination leaves exactly one possibility, which must be correct.
