Escape rooms hide clues in folded maps, mirrored text, and shapes that must fit a slot. Spatial reasoning is “seeing it in your head” — rotating a shape mentally, imagining a net folded into a box. Practice makes the mind’s-eye picture sharper.

Mirror-writing (readable only in a mirror) was a favourite trick of Leonardo da Vinci, who wrote most of his notebooks that way — and escape rooms still use it centuries later.
