Soil is a plant’s life-support. It anchors roots, holds WATER and AIR in its gaps, and supplies NUTRIENTS. Great soil is a living crumbly mix — not too sandy (drains too fast) nor too clayey (waterlogs). Farmers test and feed their soil, because everything that grows depends on it.
