Connecting the Skills

📋 What it is

The focus skills connect — planning needs working memory, starting needs the brake, studying needs attention.

🗣️ Coach says

None of these skills lives alone. Planning a project uses working memory to hold the goal; sticking to your plan uses the brake; a good study session uses sustained attention and time awareness. Seeing the connections lets you FIX the real bottleneck — if you keep losing your place, it may be working memory, not "laziness".

🧠 Memory hook

The skills interlock. Find the real bottleneck (memory? brake? start?) and aim your fix there.

😂 Giggle

I asked my brain for a quick decision and it said, "Let me sleep on it...
for a week."

😲 Whoa!

Naming WHICH skill is the sticking point ("I lose track of steps") is half the fix — you can’t improve a problem you can’t see.

✅ Quick check: You keep losing your place in multi-step tasks. Which skill is likely the bottleneck?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Think of one focus struggle you have and name which skill it really is. Pick one fix for it.

🤸 Brain break: Link it: say "planning needs ___, studying needs ___" and fill the blanks aloud.
