Engineers manage heat in buildings, engines and electronics — heating, cooling and keeping things safe.

Thermal engineering is heat control at scale. Buildings are insulated and ventilated to stay comfortable; engines and computer chips need cooling (fans, heat sinks, liquid) so they don’t overheat; spacecraft need both heating and shielding. Engineers move heat exactly where it should go.
