Advocacy, Activism & Policy
📋 What it is
Advocacy is speaking up for fairness — for yourself (self-advocacy) or alongside others — to change unfair things.
🗣️ Coach says
Advocacy means using your voice for what’s fair. SELF-advocacy is asking for what you need ("I learn better with captions"). Advocacy WITH others means supporting a cause together. Policy is the rules that make fairness stick. Young people advocate all the time — for accessible playgrounds, captions, kinder rules — and it works.
🧠 Memory hook
Advocacy = using your voice for fairness. Self-advocacy (ask for what YOU need) + advocating WITH others.
😂 Giggle
Good accessibility isn't an afterthought — it's a forethought.
Design it in, don't bolt it on!
😲 Whoa!
"Nothing about us without us" is a core disability-rights motto — decisions should include the people they affect.

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.
