Rhyme Basics

📋 What it is

Rhyme is when the END sounds of words match, like "night" and "light"; it makes lyrics feel connected.

🗣️ Coach says

Rhyme is a matching of END sounds — "cat/hat", "day/way". In songs, rhyme links lines together and makes them satisfying and easy to remember. The trick is to listen for the SOUND, not the spelling: "here" and "near" rhyme even though they're spelled differently.

🧠 Memory hook

Rhyme = matching END sounds (listen, don't spell). It links lines and helps them stick.

Why did the chorus get stuck in everyone's head?
Because it's the catchiest part of the whole song!

😲 Whoa!

Rhyme helps a song lodge in your memory — one reason you can sing an entire chorus you haven't heard in years.
