Mission 8 of 16

Song Sections

📋 What it is

Songs are built from sections — verse (story), chorus (repeated main idea) and bridge (contrast).

🗣️ Coach says

A song has PARTS with jobs. The VERSE tells the story and changes each time; the CHORUS is the repeated, catchy main idea; the BRIDGE adds a fresh contrast near the end. Knowing the sections is like knowing the rooms of a house — you can build a whole song from them.

🧠 Memory hook

Verse (story, changes) · Chorus (catchy, repeats) · Bridge (contrast). The rooms of a song.

😂 Giggle

Why did the songwriter keep a notebook everywhere?
Because a great line can arrive at the worst possible moment!

😲 Whoa!

The chorus repeats on purpose — repetition is exactly how a song burrows into your memory, which is why the chorus is the part you can't stop humming.

✅ Quick check: What is the job of the CHORUS in a song?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Think of a song you love — can you name its verse and its chorus? Which part repeats?

🤸 Brain break: Section-breath: breathe in "verse", hold "chorus", out "bridge" — the shape of a song.
