Song Forms
📋 What it is
Song forms are how sections combine — verse-chorus, AABA, and others — giving a song its overall shape.
🗣️ Coach says
A FORM is the ORDER the sections come in. Verse-Chorus form alternates verses with a repeating chorus (most pop songs); AABA repeats a main section (A) with a contrasting middle (B). The form is the blueprint — pick one and you know where each part goes.
🧠 Memory hook
Form = the ORDER of sections. Verse-Chorus (most pop) · AABA (main-main-contrast-main).
😂 Giggle
Why did the imagery make the lyric pop?
Because "your smile is a sunrise" beats "you look happy" every time!
😲 Whoa!
The AABA form powered a huge share of classic songs for decades before verse-chorus took over — the "blueprint" of a song genuinely changes with the era.
