Mission 7 of 16

Rhythm & Flow

📋 What it is

Flow is how lyrics ride the beat — phrasing, line breaks and syllable density shape the feel.

🗣️ Coach says

FLOW is how your words SURF the rhythm — where you break lines, how many syllables you pack in, where you pause. Cramming syllables feels fast and busy; spacing them out feels relaxed. Great writers control flow so the words and the beat feel like one thing.

🧠 Memory hook

Flow = how words ride the beat (phrasing · line breaks · syllable density). Control it for feel.

😂 Giggle

Why did the near-rhyme still work?
Because "time" and "line" don't match perfectly, but they're close enough to feel right!

😲 Whoa!

Two singers can perform the exact same lyric and sound completely different — the words are identical, but their FLOW (timing and phrasing) is their own signature.

✅ Quick check: What does "flow" describe in a lyric?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Say a sentence fast and crammed, then slow and spaced — same words, totally different flow.

🤸 Brain break: Flow-breath: breathe in packing "quick-quick-quick", out spacing "slow… and… calm".
