Mission 4 of 16

Circuits & Electronics

📋 What it is

Electricity flows in a complete loop (a circuit); a switch breaks or completes the loop to turn something on or off.

🗣️ Coach says

Electronics starts with one idea: electricity only flows in a complete loop. Break the loop and the light goes off; complete it and it turns on. That’s all a switch does. Master the loop and you can make things light up, buzz and move.

🧠 Memory hook

Electricity needs a complete LOOP. A switch breaks or completes it.

😂 Giggle

What did the LED say when it finally turned on?
"I'm de-lighted!"

😲 Whoa!

A single AA battery pushes electricity around a tiny loop millions of times faster than you could ever move your hand.

✅ Quick check: Why does a light in a simple circuit turn off when you open (break) the switch?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Trace a loop with your finger: battery → wire → light → wire → back. That’s a circuit.

🤸 Brain break: Circuit loop: “trace” a complete loop with your finger, then “break” it — off!
