Logical Thinking Basics

📋 What it is

Logic is reasoning where each step must follow from what came before — no leaps, no “because I said so”.

🗣️ Coach says

Logic isn’t about being clever — it’s about being careful. You start from what you know for sure, then take one honest step at a time. If a step doesn’t follow, you don’t take it.

🧠 Memory hook

One honest step at a time. If you can’t justify a step, don’t take it.

😂 Giggle

Why did the math student feel confident?
Because they had proof!

😲 Whoa!

The word “logic” comes from the Greek “logos” — meaning reason or account. People have studied it as a subject for over 2,000 years.

✅ Quick check: Someone says “All my friends like pizza, and Sam likes pizza, so Sam is my friend.” Is that a valid step?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Say a claim out loud, then say the ONE fact it rests on. If you can’t name the fact, the claim isn’t proven yet.
