Mission 1 of 16

Point-Buy Character Creation

📋 What it is

In point-buy, you spend a fixed budget of points on a character’s abilities — making trade-offs so no one stat can be maxed.

🗣️ Coach says

Building a character is a budget puzzle. You get a set number of points to spend across strength, speed, smarts and more. Spend big on one and you have less for the rest. Every character is a set of clever trade-offs.

🧠 Memory hook

Fixed points + trade-offs = a balanced character. Can’t max everything.

😲 Whoa!

Game designers use point-buy so that no player can build an unbeatable character — the point limit keeps every choice fair.

✅ Quick check: Why does a point-buy system stop a player from making a character great at everything?
