Greek Roots
📋 What it is
Many English words are built from Greek roots — "tele" (far), "photo" (light), "graph" (write), "bio" (life).
🗣️ Coach says
Roots are the LEGO bricks of long words. "Telephone" = far (tele) + sound (phone). Once you know the bricks, a scary word like "photograph" becomes "light + write". Build, don’t memorise.
🧠 Memory hook
Break the big word into bricks: tele = far, photo = light, graph = write.

The word "dinosaur" comes from Greek roots meaning "terrible lizard" — the roots literally describe the beast.
✅ Quick check: "Photograph" = photo + graph. What do those roots mean together?
Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.
"light" + "write" — a photograph is literally "writing with light".
Decoding by roots turns long, unfamiliar words into meaningful parts.
