Mission 12 of 16

Research & Synthesis

📋 What it is

Synthesis means combining information from several sources into one clear understanding.

🗣️ Coach says

Research isn’t copying one source — it’s weaving several together. You gather facts from multiple places, notice where they agree, resolve where they clash, and build ONE understanding in your own words.

🧠 Memory hook

Gather → find agreement → resolve clashes → say it in YOUR words.

😂 Giggle

What did the first-person narrator say?
"I'm the most important character in this story — literally everything is about me!"

😲 Whoa!

Every good report or essay is a synthesis — the writer is a DJ mixing many sources into one new track.

✅ Quick check: Two sources agree on a fact and a third disagrees. What should a careful researcher do?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Find one fact in two different places. Do they match? Write the fact in your OWN words, noting both sources.

⭐ Do the round to earn your star →
🤸 Brain break: Weave-it: interlace your fingers slowly — “three sources becoming one understanding.”
