Step 4: The Repair Offering

📋 What it is

A repair offering is a genuine way to make things right — an apology, a change, or a kind action that fits the hurt.

🗣️ Coach says

After owning it and naming the impact, you OFFER repair: a sincere apology, a plan to do better, or a helpful action. It should fit the hurt (a big rupture needs more than "my bad"). The offering isn’t about erasing what happened — it’s about showing you’re invested in the relationship.

🧠 Memory hook

Offer a genuine repair that FITS the hurt: a real apology + what you’ll do differently.

😂 Giggle

Why did seeing it from their side help?
Because perspective-taking turns "you're wrong" into "oh, I get why you're upset"!

😲 Whoa!

The strongest repair offerings include a FUTURE promise ("here’s what I’ll do differently") — it shows the change is real.

✅ Quick check: What makes a repair offering genuine?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

For a made-up rupture, write a repair offering with two parts: a sincere sorry + one thing you’ll change.

🤸 Brain break: Open hands: rest your palms open on your knees for three breaths — an "offering" posture.
