Accountability

📋 What it is

Accountability is owning your part fully — without shame, and without over-owning things that weren’t yours.

🗣️ Coach says

Accountability sits in the middle: not dodging your part ("it wasn’t me"), and not swallowing blame that isn’t yours ("everything is my fault"). It’s a clear, honest "here’s the part that WAS mine." That balance is brave — and it keeps repair fair for everyone, including you.

🧠 Memory hook

Own YOUR part — all of it, none of what isn’t yours. Not dodging, not over-blaming. Brave and fair.

😂 Giggle

Why did the friendship get STRONGER after the repair?
Because working through a conflict can build more trust than never fighting at all!

😲 Whoa!

Owning a mistake actually raises how much others respect and trust you — accountability reads as strength, not weakness.

✅ Quick check: What does healthy accountability look like?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🪄 Trick question: Is taking the blame for EVERYTHING the most responsible thing to do?

Careful — think it through, then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

For a made-up conflict, write "my part was ___" and "not my part was ___." Keep them separate and fair.
