Mission 11 of 16

Wildlife Awareness & Safety

📋 What it is

Respecting wild animals — giving space, storing food safely, never feeding them — keeps you and them safe.

🗣️ Coach says

Wild animals are wonderful from a distance. The rules keep everyone safe: give animals plenty of SPACE, never FEED them (it harms them and makes them bold), store food away from your sleeping area (smells attract animals), and make gentle noise so you don’t surprise one. Observe, don’t disturb.

🧠 Memory hook

Wildlife: give SPACE · never FEED · store food away · make gentle noise. Observe, don’t disturb.

Why was the map so good at parties?
Because it always knew how to break the ice-sheet!

😲 Whoa!

A "fed" wild animal often becomes a dead one — once it loses its fear of humans and starts raiding food, it usually has to be removed, which is why feeding wildlife is banned in parks.

✅ Quick check: Why is it harmful to feed wild animals?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Watch a bird or squirrel from a distance without approaching — respectful wildlife observation.

🤸 Brain break: Space-it: hold your hands wide apart — the space to give a wild animal.
