📋 What it is

Each EM band — from radio to gamma — carries different energy and has different uses and dangers.

Across the EM spectrum, shorter wavelength means higher energy. Radio and microwaves are low-energy and safe for communication and heating; visible light we see; ultraviolet, X-rays and gamma rays carry high energy that can burn skin or damage cells — useful in medicine but dangerous in large doses.
