The Water Cycle & Precipitation
📋 What it is
Water evaporates, forms clouds, and falls as rain or snow — an endless recycling loop.
🗣️ Coach says
Weather runs on water going in circles. The Sun evaporates water into vapour; it rises, cools and condenses into clouds; when droplets grow heavy they fall as PRECIPITATION (rain, snow, hail); then it flows back and starts again. The same water has cycled for billions of years.
🧠 Memory hook
Evaporate → condense (clouds) → precipitate (rain/snow) → flow back → repeat. An endless loop.
😂 Giggle
Why was the barometer so popular?
It always knew what pressure everyone was under!
😲 Whoa!
The water in your glass has been cycling for billions of years — some of it may once have been drunk by a dinosaur.
✅ Quick check: What are the main steps of the water cycle in order?
Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.
Evaporation → condensation (clouds) → precipitation (rain/snow) → collection/flow, then repeat.
The water cycle recycles water through these stages.
🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)
Breathe onto a cold window — your breath’s water vapour condenses into droplets, a mini water cycle.
