Mission 7 of 16

Body Systems & Growth

📋 What it is

Your body runs on cooperating systems — heart & blood, lungs, digestion, bones & muscles — and growing bodies change at their own pace.

🗣️ Coach says

The body is a team of systems: the heart pumps blood, lungs bring oxygen, digestion turns food to fuel, bones and muscles move you. During these years, everyone grows and changes — at DIFFERENT times and rates, which is completely normal. Understanding your systems helps you take care of them and not compare your timeline to anyone else’s.

🧠 Memory hook

Systems cooperate: heart · lungs · digestion · bones+muscles. Everyone grows at their OWN pace — normal.

😂 Giggle

Sunscreen is the ultimate wingman — it's always got your back. And your arms.
And your face.

😲 Whoa!

Your heart beats about 100,000 times a day without you ever thinking about it.

✅ Quick check: Is it normal for classmates the same age to be growing at very different rates?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Put a hand on your chest after moving and feel your heart working — one of your hardest-working systems.

🤸 Brain break: System breath: breathe in and picture oxygen reaching your muscles; out, picture the used air leaving.
