Meet the cast
ClassPact is text-forward and educator-facing (adults) - no illustrated cast; the 'crew' are the parts of a classroom charter, and each part IS one section of the agreement a class builds together. Charter is the facilitator who holds the whole activity and reminds you a charter works when the CLASS builds it, not when a rules list is handed down. Quorum is the together-ness: everyone's voice in the room, the quiet ones included - the charter is the class's, not the teacher's. Accord is the first question, 'how do we want to feel here?', gathering the target feelings in the class's own words. Compact is the second, 'what will we DO to feel that way?', the small concrete agreements that make those feelings likely. Clause is the third and load-bearing, 'what will we do WHEN WE DON'T?', the calm reset agreed in advance - a repair, never a punishment - which is the part most rules posters skip and the part that makes a charter work. ClassPact keeps no student data, no dashboard, no screening: the signed printout is the only record, and it stays in the room. Illustrated portraits/chapters/audio are N/A (adult educator tool), not a follow-on.
Charter
(Mentor) - the facilitator who holds the whole activity. Charter reminds you a classroom charter works when the CLASS builds it in one period, not when a laminated rules list is handed down - the words on the wall matter less than who wrote them.
Quorum
The together-ness - every voice in the room, the quiet ones included. Quorum's act IS keeping the charter the class's own, gathered from everyone, never dictated by the teacher.
Accord
The first question - 'how do we want to feel in this room?' Accord's act IS gathering the target feelings (safe, respected, focused, included) in the class's own words, the aim in everyone's language.
Compact
The second question - 'what will we DO to feel that way?' Compact's act IS turning the feelings into small, concrete, ours agreements (listen without interrupting, make room for quiet voices) rather than a rules list from above.
Clause
The third and load-bearing question - 'what will we do WHEN WE DON'T?' Clause's act IS writing the calm reset in advance - a breath, naming the slip kindly, repairing one-to-one after - a repair never a punishment, the part most posters skip and the part that makes a charter work.
