RoofPals

A neighbour arrives needing a home that is dry, warm and light. Build it from wood, stone, mud brick, glass and thatch, each with a few true properties. Then ring the bell for rain, wind or night and watch what your house does. Fix it and ring again. No score, no timer.

Built for sittings of about 15 minutes on the screen. That is our design budget, not a measurement.

Distributed-narrative cast

Meet the cast

RoofPals's friends each embody one property of a material — the crew IS how a house behaves. Lintel spans the gap, Thatchley sheds the rain, Glim lets the light in, and Kestle keeps the warmth.

L

Lintel

(Hero and guide, a beaver builder) - lays a wooden beam across a gap; wood is light and can span what stone cannot

T

Thatchley

A heron who lives under a steep roof - rain runs off thatch and stays off the walls below

G

Glim

A firefly who loves windows - glass lets light through, so a room with a window is light to read by

K

Kestle

A badger in a thick-walled burrow - stone and earth walls hold the warmth in on a cold night
