Meet the cast
TallyTots is a little band of animal friends who help the youngest learners feel numbers through play — hopping a number path, seeing how many at a glance, adding just one, and counting one-by-one. Ribbet the frog is the hero; the cast are Ribbet's friends. Everything is spoken and gentle, and there is no wrong answer — a slip is just a friendly 'let's try again.'
Ribbet
Mental number line / magnitude — a frog who hops the linear 1→10 lily-pad path; farther along IS more (the Ramani–Siegler core)

Dottie
Subitizing — a ladybug whose back-spots you know at a glance, without counting; instant recognition IS subitizing

Wriggle
The successor principle — a caterpillar who grows one segment when you add one and sheds one when you take one; ±1 IS the next/previous number

Clutch
Counting / cardinality — a hen who touches each egg once as she counts; the last number IS how many in all

How TallyTots handles your kid's data
- ✅ All progress, settings, and AI-generated content stays on the device
- ✅ No analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDKs
- ✅ Free — no ads, no in-app purchases
- ✅ No personal information collected from children — in line with COPPA (updated by the 2026 FTC amendments)
- ✅ No chat with strangers — play-together rooms use a short code and preset emotes, never typed messages
TallyTots runs on ForgeKit — the open-source Swift Package Manager framework that powers every Spark & Anvil app. ForgeKit ensures consistent accessibility, COPPA compliance, and design language across the portfolio, so your kid's progress and preferences feel coherent across every app they touch.
