Meet the cast
WhyTots is the step after naming a feeling (TalkTots): linking it to what happened. Young children can already connect a feeling to the situation that caused it (Pons & Harris's external-cause phase), so Bindi the bilby wonders "why?" over ONE warm scene for a grown-up and a 3-5 child to share. The three companions each embody one wonder-move; every feeling has a because, nothing is a test, and nothing is ever saved.
Bindi
Wonder why (hero) - a bilby who asks "what happened?" about every feeling and guesses the because together; the wonder-why act IS Bindi. Every feeling has a because.
Digga
The because - a digging companion who digs up the everyday thing that happened (a shared toy, a goodbye, a big loud noise); a feeling lives in a SITUATION, never on a cartoon face to read.
Warra
When did you feel it? - a gentle companion who asks the child when THEY felt the feeling, and what happened right before.
Pindi
...and me too - shares her own because back so no one wonders alone (the grown-up-first reciprocity move: the adult names their because too).
