Boom Keeps the Beat With You
Boom was a friendly little drum with a gentle face on its drumhead and two small drumsticks for arms, and Boom’s whole job was the best kind of teamwork: keeping the beat with you, side by side, so nobody ever got lost.
The little one started a steady clap, and Boom joined right in — boom, boom, boom — landing at the very same moment as each clap. Two of them, one beat. When you clap along with someone, the beat gets stronger and easier to keep.
Sometimes the little one wobbled and sped up by accident. Boom didn’t fuss or stop — Boom just kept a warm, steady boom, boom, boom, like a friend gently holding the door open, until the little one drifted back into time. A steady partner helps you find the beat again.
By the end, the little one and Boom were locked in together — clap-boom, clap-boom — grinning at their perfect team. Keeping a beat is more fun with a friend, and Boom will always keep it right there with you. Boom, boom, boom.
