For grown-ups

Your child pegs everyday things on a line — long ago, a while ago, now — one job at a time: sending a message, lighting a room, hearing music, finding the way. “A while ago” means your own childhood.

Each job ends with one question from Whileen for your child to ask you, such as “What phone did your family have when you were seven?” Your answer is the history lesson. It can be printed on its own.

For more on asking — and being asked — about the past, Spark Whetstone has a free short course: How to Ask an Elder, and Be Asked (opens in a new tab).
