About BeePals

BeePals is a friendly spelling bee for young readers. You hear a word, see a picture of what it means, and spell it by tapping the letters in order — with the same helper questions a real bee lets you ask (say it again, what it means, use it in a sentence).

Spell the words you understand

The best study of expert word-game players found that lots of word-game practice trains you to recognise letters — but not what words mean. BeePals is built the other way round: every word comes with its picture and its meaning, so you always spell a word you understand. Spelling and meaning grow together.

Tap-as-truth

You spell by tapping tiles, not by saying letters out loud — so nothing gets misheard, and a child who is shy or still learning to speak clearly can play just as well.

What it's good for (and what we don't claim)

BeePals is good practice for early spelling, phonics, and vocabulary. It is not a brain-training program and we make no claim it raises IQ or test scores — it's a calm, encouraging way to learn to spell.
