How CasterQuest works

Narrating the game is the skill

On big game platforms a computer narrates the action for you. CasterQuest flips it: you are the commentator. Reading a move and naming it — winning move, block, double threat, blunder — is exactly how strong players evaluate a position. Learn the vocabulary, and you start to see the whole board.

A real engine grades every call

CasterQuest isn’t guessing. A deterministic Connect-4 engine checks each move against the board — does it win, does it block a win, does it make two threats, does it hand the opponent a win? Your call is graded against that verdict, so a “great call” means you saw what the engine sees. No AI is involved anywhere.

No score, no losing

There’s no streak, no timer, and no way to lose — just a gentle count of your great calls and a clear explanation of the ones you missed. Read-aloud is on every moment (tap the 🔊). It’s practice, never a test or a claim about you.

Private by design

CasterQuest is free, has no ads, and needs no account. Everything runs on this device — nothing you tap or call is sent anywhere. (A small count of games played is kept on this device only.) A spoken play-by-play mic mode is planned for the app version; the web booth calls the game by tapping.
