About CornerstoneQuest
CornerstoneQuest is a 3-minute daily puzzle for ages 9–14. Every day it charts a fresh island and asks the one question every trade-and-build game turns on: where does your first cottage go? You tap a corner; the surveyor shows you the best spot and — more importantly — why.
The island is home
Gullwick's islanders are rebuilding their harbour after the Great Storm. There is no one to conquer and no empty land to claim — just neighbours deciding, together, where to build first. The board, its goods, and its dice numbers are all our own; it is not a copy of any commercial game.
Meet the founders of Gullwick
- Idris — the surveyor — ranks every corner and asks “where would your first cottage do the most?”
- Pemba — counts the pips — builds where the goods flow most often
- Vera — loves a good mix — three goods beat the same good three times
- Senna — hunts the scarce good — the rarest resource on the island
- Rafi — settles by the coves — a better trade rate, a quiet advantage
- Anja — leaves room to grow — never boxed into the coast
Think it over
After a few days, notice this: the richest-looking corner isn't always the wisest. When did a corner with fewer pips but a scarce good, or more room to grow, turn out better? Naming that trade-off — more now versus more options later — is the real skill the puzzle builds.
