Mission 7 of 16

Animal Nutrition & Health

📋 What it is

Different animals need different diets — carnivore, herbivore, omnivore — to stay healthy.

🗣️ Coach says

Just like people, animals need the right food to be healthy — but the "right" food varies hugely. CARNIVORES (cats) need meat; HERBIVORES (rabbits, horses) need plants; OMNIVORES (dogs, pigs) eat both. Feeding an animal the wrong diet makes it sick, which is why knowing its natural diet matters.

🧠 Memory hook

Diet by type: carnivore (meat) · herbivore (plants) · omnivore (both). Wrong diet = sick animal.

😂 Giggle

What do you call a sleeping dinosaur at the animal hospital?
A dino-snore — but it's actually just under anesthesia!

😲 Whoa!

A cat is a "true carnivore" — it can’t make certain nutrients from plants at all, so unlike a dog, a cat genuinely needs meat to survive.

✅ Quick check: What’s the difference between a herbivore, carnivore and omnivore?

Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.

🧪 Try it! (2 minutes)

Sort 3 animals (cat, rabbit, pig) into carnivore, herbivore, omnivore by their natural diet.

🤸 Brain break: Diet-mime: mime munching a leaf (herbivore), then tearing meat (carnivore).
