About DecodePals
DecodePals helps children ages 6–8 sound words out and read — the transferable skill that unlocks every new word. Each round is four small steps: learn a sound, blend a word, read a little sentence, and teach a reading pup how one word works.
It is the reading-buddy half of our open Sound Road sequence: DecodePals reads only words the Sound Road has already taught, so a child never meets a spelling they cannot decode.
The last step is the special one — teaching. When a child shows the pup which part makes a sound, they remember it far better than by drilling. The pup never gives the answer away; it just needs a friendly nudge.
Everything is calm: no score, no streak, no timer, nothing to buy. Everything runs on this device — there are no accounts, and nothing a child does leaves the device.
Honest note for grown-ups: DecodePals is practice, not a promise of a reading level. It grows reading best alongside lots of real books read together.
