A hypothesis is a testable "if… then…" guess you make BEFORE you check.

A hypothesis isn’t a wild guess — it’s a guess you can test. "If I water this plant more, then it grows faster." The magic word is testable: you must be able to prove it wrong.

A hypothesis that can’t possibly be proven wrong is useless to science — being falsifiable is what makes it powerful.
✅ Quick check: Which is a real hypothesis: "plants like music" or "if plants get 2 more hours of light, then they grow taller"?
Say your answer out loud first — then reveal.
The second — it’s a testable "if… then…" you could check; "plants like music" is too vague to test.
A hypothesis must predict something measurable so an experiment can support or reject it.
