ExhibitForge is the curator's core task: turning a pile of objects into a show that means something — under real constraints. The learner picks a theme and objects, writes a 60-word “big idea” (the whole show in one breath), keeps the selection inside a budget, and lights each fragile piece under its conservation lux ceiling — then defends the plan.
The constraints are real
- Budget. You can't show everything; every object costs to loan, case, and mount.
- Light. Paper and textiles fade above ~50 lux; the plan has to keep them safe for the whole run.
- Focus. A big idea in ≤60 words forces a real argument, not a list.
Why no AI grade?
The engine checks the numbers — budget, lux, word count — because those have right answers. It never grades the interpretation: the theme, the big idea, and the defence are the student's own reasoning. That's the honest line between what a tool can check and what a person must judge.
Defend it
When the plan holds, the studio asks the questions a real curator faces — from a trustee, an educator, a conservator. Answering them out loud (or to a partner) is where interpretive thinking becomes argument.
