For grown-ups
FlutterTots helps a young child practice sequencing — putting things in the order they happen. A butterfly's life cycle (egg → caterpillar → chrysalis → butterfly) is a perfect first sequence: it's real, it's ordered, and it loops.
How to play together
- Pick a creature or plant at the top: butterfly, frog, chicken, sunflower, or me.
- The pictures start mixed up. Tap them into the strip, from first to last.
- Each tap says the stage out loud. When the order is right, the cycle comes to life and a real fact is read aloud.
- Tapped the wrong one? Just tap the last picture in the strip to take it back. There's no timer and no way to lose.
Talk about it
- “What comes first? What comes next? What comes last?”
- “The butterfly lays an egg, and it starts all over — that's why we call it a cycle.”
- “You were a baby, now you're a kid — you're growing, too!”
What it's good for (and what we don't claim)
FlutterTots builds sequencing and order words (a kindergarten science + language foundation, K-LS1). It is not a brain-training program and makes no claim it raises IQ or test scores. It's a calm, slow, real-biology first sequence.
