Some of GrammarForge’s townsfolk are still learning their own rule. When you teach them, YOU learn it best — catch what they get wrong, then quiz them.
Teach Verb Verity
You be the teacher — Verb Verity is still learning. Helping Verb Verity figure it out is the practice. (Verb Verity's progress stays on this device; nothing is sent anywhere.)
🎓 In a minute you'll be the teacher. Get ready to teach Verb Verity: subject-verb agreement.
The verb has to match its subject. One dog runs; two dogs run. A singular subject usually takes the verb with -s, and a plural subject doesn't.
What does a conjunction like "and / but / because" actually DO to two clauses?
Connector Chen then says: “"I ran to the bus, I missed it" — a comma joins them just fine!” — is that right?
The link: Carla's clauses are the pieces; Chen's conjunction is the JOINT. One makes the parts, the other connects them.
Now they see it: joining clauses isn't decoration — the conjunction is what turns two thoughts into one sentence.

Who do you bring in?

Who do you bring in?

Who do you bring in?

Who do you bring in?
Notice what you just did: no single idea wrote the sentence — you PICKED the right idea for each part and connected them. That's what knowing grammar really means.
The whole cast, working together — because you taught each one and saw how they fit.
Each idea is a person you teach. A filled circle is one you can teach; a solid line is a connection you've taught. Fill the map by teaching the cast + their connections.
